Goodness me. Time is flying and Camp LIFE is JUST around the corner!! This year our theme is Kingdom. The orphans are going to learn that they are a part of God's Kingdom. That He loves them and they are royalty. I pray that they will realize that this world they live in--the poverty, the thirst, the hunger, the gutters, the trash--it's all a temporary home. Their true home is a marvelous Kingdom!! I can't wait to see God move in their lives this summer.
I'm also super excited about what God is going to do in the lives of every America who steps on Zambian soil. I feel as though God is brewing up something BIG. He loves this country and Satan has such a hold on it, but I feel like it's getting to the point where God is saying, "Enough is enough." I believe when each of our 500 Americans leave Zambia, their hearts will be broken for these beautiful children in such need. I know they have heard so many stories about these children and this country, but to hear about it is NOTHING compared to experiencing it FIRST HAND. I'm telling you, Zambia is in a place of change. This is the time. I'm without a doubt convinced that God has placed me in this country at this time for a specific reason. I've been praying a lot for the gift of discernment. (You can pray for me too!) There are times in the day where I feel the tension or I feel that we are on the edge of something HUGE. Maybe God is slowly answering my prayer for discernment...but I'm telling you, something is happening. This year is also an election year, so the Zambians will be voting in a presidential election. Every Zambian I talk to says the same thing, "It's time for a change!" Whether that's the current president changing certain policies and procedures or if someone new needs to come in. Regardless, THIS is a time for change. And I don't care who tells me otherwise, I BELIEVE that God is about to change this country. Now change doesn't always look like we want it to, but I believe that God loves the people in this country and Satan has had a hold on it too long.
I will tell you that there is so much to do!! From training the staff, to visiting the schools, to purchasing books for the Tree of Life, to setting thing up for camp. We just keep going nonstop, but it's an incredible experience. You know when so much is happening that days just fly by? That's what is happening. Our first group of staff land in the country on MONDAY!! I'm thrilled!! This project has been set up and for months and months and I've worked with the perspective, "It's coming soon," but now it's finally here! Camp is here and children will be radically changed! Praise God!
