So quite a lot has happened in the past couple of days.. the LORD is soooo very good. Sunday morning, we woke up ready to go to Zambian church! It’s incredible how these people truly worship with everything they have… there is SO much faith all around us, it’s incredible. Uncle Teddy came to talk to us about John 9:3-4 when Jesus said, “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me.” It was a powerful message delivered by the head of the discipleship leaders. I was moved to look at every single day as a new day with a new task that God has for me. Greer told us about how his dad used to pray every morning and ask God, “What is my assignment today?” I was convicted, because so many times I am living with the future in mind—planning, adjusting, learning, and directing my life in such a way so that my future would pan out. BUT rarely do I see each day as an important day holding an important task from the Lord! SOOOO it was very very good.
After church, we went to the GO center to see all the volunteers for this week and to watch the Americans be paired up with their evangelist or apostle. I LOVED jumping around and singing with all of them. When every American had a partner, Greer introduced me to the Fathers Heart Educational Coordinator here in Zambia so that we could be in touch about school fees and the sponsored children here… it was great meeting someone on this side that is working with the same area I will be working. After the last few dances, Greer dismissed us to the bus. Before I say the next part, I have to tell you… back in the states several of my best friends and I went to the state fair of Texas, where we saw and were on the Oprah show—I just happened to be placed right behind her. ANYWAYS… Greer dismissed us to the bus and I heard, “Megan!!” I turned to see Moses, the best friend of my old partner, I hugged him and he said, “I saw you on Oprah!! I knew that if I saw you again, I would have to tell you.” Ok…..WHAT?!?!?! It. was. awesome.
Then today was the first day of camp. It was very surreal being there but not actually having a group—it’s weird being solely on the helping side. I stood at the door to greet everyone in, but didn’t know one child personally. However, it was the neatest thing to hear the Americans testimonies of their day. So many people were amazed at God’s work and I pray that their faith grows immensely this week. Tonight a girl shared that she went into the prayer room and had one of her kids go limp when they started praying that the evil spirit would come out of her… she just fell down—all dead weight. She kept praying and was amazed when the girl came back and clung to her the rest of the day. Greer answered that with, “The interesting part, is that you don’t need a prayer room to do things like this. By laying your hands on a child, you have the power of Christ. The formula is faith.” Powerful. I just stand in awe of the Lord’s power to change not only the Zambian kids but the Americans as well. I am blessed.
